Atithi Devo Bhava… A Royal Welcome in Rajasthan

Rajasthan, with its culture, heritage, safaris, sand dunes, oldest mountain range, and wildlife has always been a destination nonpareil. And we believe in welcoming you in a regal style so that you get to taste royal Marwar.

Nahargarh Ranthambore

As per the famous saying “Atithi Devo Bhava,” in Rajasthan, a guest is considered as equal to God. So welcoming a guest is no less than welcoming and worshiping God! As the guests disembark at the entrance to the Alsisar Hotels, they are welcomed by “Kachi Ghori”, a traditional Rajasthani dance.  The Ladies, dressed in traditional Rajasthani outfits shower rose petals while musicians at the entrance play lilting tunes from Rajasthani classical instruments.

The guests are embraced with tika, wherein vermillion is applied on the forehead and it is followed by the traditional Arti ceremony. Arti is a holy way to seek blessings from God and is performed by lighting lamps that are filled with ghee and arranged in a small tray. Once the lamps are lit, the tray is rotated in a circular direction in front of the person to be welcomed.

The patrons are then garlanded and are ushered to their cozy rooms on beautifully adorned camels regaling the guests as they used to for the Indian kings of yore……
