On the World museum Day today, we are sharing with you the most appreciated museums of Jaipur-

1. Albert Hall Museum

Also known as the Government Central Museum, Albert Hall is the oldest museum in Rajasthan and holds the essence of the Maharajas of Jaipur. Constructed in 1876 to greet King Edward VII, the Prince of Wales on his visit to India. In 1886, it was opened for public with many beautiful galleries in it.

The museum showcases numerous archways, courtyards and towers representing the symbol of rich architectural heritage of India. It exhibits beautiful paintings along with portraits of the royal kings on the museum’s first floor. Further, other valuables displayed in the museum include refined carving, metal artwork, wood works, brass made jewellery, clay wares and traditional dresses of kings. Most interestingly, the Albert Hall Museum also has an Egyptian Mummy on display.

2. Doll Museum

With a mesmeric collection of dolls from across the world, the Dolls museum of Jaipur present dolls of all styles, genres and sizes. This museum is built to offer an insight into the multi hued cultures of different countries of the world. Other than providing information about different cultures of the world, the dolls museum also offers an amazing experience of dolls dressed in traditional attires of the different countries.

3. City Palace Museum (Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum)

A fascinating section within the City Palace complex of Jaipur, this museum comprised of  Pothi khana and Sileh khana apart from a new textile and costume gallery before it was opened to public. Spreads across multiple sections of the palace complex such as the Diwan-i-Aam, the Mubarak Mahal, the Diwan-i-Khas and the Chandra Mahal, the City palace Museum forms a major part of the great City Palace of Jaipur and always regarded for its spellbinding architecture and commendable art work.
